The past academic year (2021/2022) has seen a resurrection of student initiatives interrupted by the pandemic of covid-19. The tradition of Liberal Education Student Conferences (LESC) was endangered by cancellation of LESC planned in Vilnius, Lithuania in the spring 2020.
Students of liberal arts from all over Europe were inspired by Hans Adriaansens Student Awards in 2021 and have started to seek ways for international cooperation. They talk various topics as part of creating informal European Liberal Arts Student Network. This has resulted in organising an online student conference in June.
Next to that, ECOLAS continues with its annual support of Hans Adriaansens Student Awards and has selected five winners in the third year of this competition. The winners plan to meet online in September.
ECOLAS is also willing to support cooperation of student journals and other publishing initiatives and their networking among the diverse environment of liberal arts study programmes.
